Super Mario Bros NES to SMS Port v1 Release

Developer LackOfTrack has just released v1.0 of their Super Mario Bros conversion to the Sega Master System. This release is the entire game and the video above shows it’s able to be completed. There’s also an option for an FM Sound audio track, making this a MUST TRY for all SMS fans! More info below the link:

This was originally released as an entry to the SMSPower’s 2026 coding contest, with only the first level available, making this a very big release. And to clarify, this isn’t a re-skinning of an SMS side-scroller with SMB graphics – This is a true port of the original, using the disassembly by doppelganger as a reference. As a result, is plays and feels like the NES version. You can play it via emulation to try it out, however it’s fully compatible with original hardware via ROM Carts; Of course real hardware would require an FM module to play the FM soundtrack version.
